As you will soon discover, Members of the NASC who proudly display the DSP designation promote themselves to the public and other Members as “The face of a professional.” When DSP Members conduct themselves in a highly professional manner, they also represent their businesses as equally professional. DSP Members teach consumers that doing business with all DSP Members simply makes sense. This is what the NASC means when it describes the Designated Solution Pro (DSP) program as “The face of a professional . . .  The power of a designation.”

The title DSP stands for Designated Solution Pro. It is a prestigious designation conferred upon certain Members of the National Association of Solution Providers and Channel Partners (NASC). To qualify, the Member must be active, in good standing, and subscribe to the highest business standards recognized in the IT and related technology industries. Honesty and transparency in sales, service, and advertising are other hallmarks of a Designated Solution Pro.

The History

Prior to the formation of the NASC, it was nearly impossible for consumers to conduct thorough pre-purchase or pre-hiring research on the backgrounds and skills of possible IT and technology product or service providers. Without ready access to comprehensive information, technology needs were often filled by: (1) Guessing who might be best, (2) Being drawn to the slickest advertisement, or (3) Resorting to the only person available to handle an immediate service call. No wonder why multiple “experts” often had to be consulted, and multiple dollars spent, just to get a job done properly. Why should any other outcome be expected under these circumstances?

Giving consumers the information they need to make great decisions

The NASC helps both Members and consumers by facilitating effective solutions that address the challenges of a contemporary business environment. The economic events of the past few years have elevated “public trust” and “transparency in business” to top consumer concerns. By advancing the DSP Designation Program, the NASC proactively addresses both of these needs.

To earn the DSP Designation, qualifying Members must upload a detailed profile to the NASC website, complete with references, that describes their specific business, products, or services. These profiles are available for consumers to research before deciding who to hire or from whom to purchase. Fulfilling technology needs, by doing business with a DSP, has never been easier and more reliable.

The NASC does not actually guarantee or certify the products or services of a DSP Member since that is exclusively between the Member and the consumer. The NASC does, however, require that the DSP Member’s profile be absolutely complete, accurate, and up-to-date. Like all NASC Members, a DSP must abide by the Code of Ethics. Failure to fulfill these consumer-friendly responsibilities can result in a loss of both membership and designation privileges.

If the word excellence means outstanding … and a Designated Solution Pro means excellence in business … then doing business with a DSP is an outstanding choice for IT and Technology needs.
